Contributions To Community
Dr. Salem was president of the Lebanese Cancer Society from 1972 to 1986. He conducted many campaigns against smoking and held public education campaigns that related to the early diagnosis and detection of cancer.
From 1975 to 1985, he was Secretary General of the Federation of Middle East Cancer Organizations, which was part of the International Union Against Cancer (UICC) network.
In the last eight years, Dr. Salem served on several task force committees and Ad hoc committees to the White House. These committees were related to health issues.
